A. Explanation of Personal Information Collection Statement and Privacy Policy
 

Please read the following points carefully before providing any personal information.

 

Definition

1. Unless the context requires otherwise, the following words appear in this privacy policy with the meaning given below.
   “Personal data” refers to the definition of the term personal data in the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
   “New Region” refers to New Region Securities Company Limited and its subsidiaries and associated companies.

 

Internet transmission is not absolutely secure

1. Because the Internet is an open system, it is not absolutely safe and reliable for customers to send emails or other electronic information to New Region via the Internet. New Region does not guarantee or guarantee the security of messages sent via the Internet and other electronic communication systems. New Region is not responsible for any damage and loss suffered by users when sending emails or other electronic information to New Region via the Internet and other electronic communication systems or when sending emails or other electronic information at the request of users.

Purpose of collection and use

1. Except for the personal information provided by the visitor, New Region will not collect any other personal information about the visitor to identify the identity of the visitor of any New Region website.

   4. Improve, enhance, design and develop existing or new financial services or related products for use by customers (including providing financial advice to customers where appropriate);

   5. If the data subject uses his or her personal data in the account application form or other application form or through other means (including expressing no objection) to use his or her personal data for direct marketing purposes as a member company of New Region or a company outside the group, it will be used to promote finance and related Services, products and goods;

   6. Determine the amount of debt between the customer or any guarantor and New Region;

   7. Collect debts from customers or any guarantors;

   8. Meet the information disclosure request or requirement under applicable laws or regulations;

   9. Enable the actual or proposed transferee of New Region in merger, merger, re-organization or other circumstances to evaluate the proposed transfer;

   10. Any other purposes disclosed from time to time on the websites of New Region member companies or application forms;

   11. Initiate or conduct a defense or otherwise participate in any legal or administrative procedure or inquiry in any court or competent authority;

   12. Administrative, telecommunications, computer, payment, debt collection or securities settlement, custody, auditing, banking, financing, insurance, business consulting, outsourcing services or other services provided to New Region related to its business operations sought or obtained;

   13. Companies with registered offices in Europe (“European Companies”) have the right to cross-border confirmation of their cross-border shareholders. Therefore, we are obliged to provide personal data including the names and addresses of shareholders when required by these European companies in accordance with applicable EU directives and/or the laws of its member countries and/or other implementation measures; and

   14. Any use directly or indirectly related to or incidental to the above.

 

Types of potential recipients

1.  New Region is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of personal data held by customers or non-customers (if applicable). However, New Region may, in its sole discretion, provide such information to the following persons for direct marketing (provided with their consent (including expression of no objection)) or other purposes permitted by this privacy policy:

   1. Any provision of administrative, telecommunications, computer, payment, debt collection, securities settlement, custody, audit, banking, financing, insurance, risk management, business consulting, outsourcing services, customer relationship management, marketing or other New Region business operations related to New Region Service agents, contractors or third-party service providers (whether in Hong Kong or elsewhere);

   2. Branches or offices of any member of New Region in Hong Kong or elsewhere;

   3. Any person who is or intends to be a guarantor;

   4. Any person who is responsible for confidentiality of New Region (or any group member) or has promised to keep such information confidential;

   5. Any financial institution that conducts transactions with customers or intends to conduct transactions;

   6. Credit information service agencies; if customers owe debts, they can provide information to debt collection agencies;

   7. Any actual or proposed transferee or transferee of any member of New Region;

   8. Any person who needs to be disclosed in accordance with the law or any regulatory rules, including any rules, judgments, decisions or rulings of the courts, arbitration tribunals, Financial Dispute Resolution Center Co., Ltd., government, regulatory or other bodies or institutions, whether applicable Any legal or regulatory requirements or other circumstances of any New Region member; or in accordance with any company’s notice issued under Section 329 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance.

 

Access and correct personal data

1. You can request access to and correction of your personal data held by New Region (if any). If you wish to access or correct your personal data held by New Region, you can notify the Privacy Officer of New Region in writing at Unit A, 19/F, Dah Sing Life Building, 99 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong. New Region may charge a reasonable fee to process any data access request.

 

Other applicable personal information collection statement

1. If you are a customer of any member of New Region, the personal data attachment in the “Client Agreement and Attachments” will replace this privacy policy and apply for the relevant account, because this privacy policy is of a general nature. If the relevant personal information is collected through an application form for an event (such as attending a lecture), the personal information collection statement on the event application form will supplement this privacy policy. If there is any inconsistency, the personal information collection statement on the activity application form shall prevail, but only for the inconsistency.

 

Other disclaimers

1. New Region strives to provide accurate and reliable information with respect to the information on any of its member companies’websites, but does not guarantee or guarantee the accuracy and reliability of such information, nor will it cause you to make mistakes or omissions or for any other reasons. Any liability for loss or damage (whether in tort or contractual or based on other reasons).

B. Refuse to use personal data for direct marketing purposes

Request to stop receiving direct marketing materials
According to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the “Regulations”), you can request to stop receiving direct marketing materials at any time after providing relevant personal information.   You can click the “unsubscribe” link attached to the promotion or promotional emails sent to you by the Group, or  click here to  download the form, fill in and request in writing to the following persons to stop receiving direct marketing materials from New Region.   New Region will handle your request free of charge.
